A Teacher Inspires His Pupils To Discover More About Symptoms Of Alcoholism, Alcoholic Symptoms, And Signs Of Alcoholism

Mr. Johnson was one of the health lecturers at a small countryside community college in the Southern part of the U.S. For "Alcohol Alertness Month" he came to a decision that he would highlight the following three topics for a class assignment: the symptoms of alcoholism, alcoholic symptoms, and the signs of alcoholism.

After Mr. Johnson finalized the topics that would be given to his pupils, he made up his mind that he would give them their assignment the following Thursday morning. When "assignment day" eventually arrived, Mr. Johnson met with his class, disseminated some pertinent facts and statistics, and then informed his students about the topics he decided upon.

He then gave the students in his class a synopsis of some important signs of alcoholism and emphasized how necessary it is to learn how to link these statistics, symptoms, and facts with the real-life situations of alcohol addicted individuals. He then gave the students in his class a concise explanation about the relevance of learning more about alcohol dependent people and how they live on a day-to-day basis.

Mr. Johnson told his pupils that they could concentrate on one of the three topics or research all three topics and how they are interconnected. In short this would be analogous to a general summary but done in a more wide-ranging fashion.

Another option that he gave to the students in his class was the following: decide on a topic such as alcohol dependency signs and symptoms, inquire into things more completely, and then go over four or five symptoms and signs. Mr. Johnson then brought up the fact that the same rationale applies to the other two topics, specifically, the symptoms of alcoholism and alcoholic symptoms.

The end result of their research would be a ten thousand word research project and then a fifteen minute oral presentation that would be given in front of the class. As acknowledgment for their extraordinary scholarly achievement, the students with the top five overall grades on the research project and on the oral presentation will be encouraged to present the results of their study at the community chemical dependency conference at the end of May.

As stated by Mr. Johnson, due to the fact that there are quite a few alcoholism symptoms and signs to select, he pointed out the fact that he was not very worried about several students choosing the same symptoms and signs for their class project. Indeed, even if several students were to pick identical signs and symptoms, the examples that are associated with each sign or symptom would clearly add enough diversity to circumvent two or more pupils presenting the same content.

Mr. Johnson then brought up the fact that while there are more than a few alcohol dependency signs and symptoms that could be chosen, the total number of alcoholism facts and statistics that could be cataloged were almost immeasurable. When the topic of alcoholic symptoms was added to the discussion, additionally, the pupils realized fairly quickly that the three topics would offer a substantial amount of material from which to choose.

Why did Mr. Johnson decide upon the symptoms of alcoholism, alcoholic symptoms, and the signs of alcoholism as the topics for this project? Mr. Johnson thought that by raising the comprehension of his students about the unhealthy outcomes of alcohol addiction and the dismal way of life suffered by alcohol addicted people, his students might think twice before they got mixed up with abusive and excessive drinking behavior.
